Anti-Reflux Diet
Do not smoke. Smoking will cause reflux.
Avoid large meals, east slowly, and eat 4 to 5 small meals a day.
Avoid eating within 2- 3 hours of going to bed.
Avoid lying down, bending over or standing immediately after eating.
Avoid tight fitting clothing, especially around the waste and after a meal.
Lose weight if overweight.
It is helpful to sleep with the head of the bed elevated, for more severe symptoms. (Six inches of bed elevations will decrease reflux significantly.)
